Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking dedicated caregivers in South Carolina to support patients under a plan of care. Responsibilities include assistance with daily living activities, temperature and vital sign checks when ordered, safe transfers, and helping with mobility and therapy exercises.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, effective communication with families and nurses, and strict adherence to training and competency programs.

Qualifications

• Meets all training requirements in accordance with state and federal laws when applicable
• Ability to read, follow written instructions and document care given
• Participation and completion of Maxim’s competency program

Responsibilities

• Assist patient with plan of care including baths, dressing, feeding and hygiene
• Take and record vital signs when ordered
• Safe transfer and ambulation, assist with range of motion and therapy activities
• Observe and document patient condition and report changes
• Perform patient laundry and meet safety needs

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assisting patient with and per plan of care, the following;
  • Baths, Oral hygiene, Dressing and undressing, Toileting activities, feeding, etc
  • Taking and recording oral, rectal and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency)
  • Safe transfer and ambulation techniques
  • Exercise according to the plan of care
  • Performing range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency)
  • Patient’s laundry
  • Meeting safety needs of patients and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, etc.)
  • Observation and teaching of home safety practices
  • Recognition of an emergency situation and knowledge of emergency management procedures
• Must follow patients plan of care and complete all tasks assigned
• Communicates in a constant, clear, and effective way with the client, family/caregiver and office
• Observes and documents patient condition and reports any changes, to the assigned nurse supervisor

Requirements

• Meets all training requirements in accordance with state and federal laws when applicable
• Ability to read, follow written instructions and document care given
• Possess and maintains current CPR certification in accordance with state regulation
• PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Successful completion of Maxim screening examinations
• Participation and completion of Maxim’s competency program
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
