Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Personal Care Assistant in California to provide in-home support for clients’ daily living needs. The role involves assisting with mobility, hygiene, and routine care, while coordinating with families and health resources.

Ideal candidates may have 1 year of relevant experience, a current BLS card, and the ability to communicate effectively in English. This position emphasizes compassionate care and patient safety in a home setting.

Qualifications

• State licensure or certification as required by state
• One year relevant experience preferred
• Current BLS Card
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray
• Knowledge of child growth and development
• Ability to coordinate and facilitate services between home, school, local health agency, and other resources
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Computer proficiency is required

Responsibilities

• Provides services to persons who need help with day-to-day activities
• Performs health care tasks, personal hygiene services, and other support services essential to the client's health
• Assists with transfers and ambulation
• Performs incidental household services that are part of a personal care plan
• Provides companionship by reading, listening and talking with client
• Assists client in the development of independent skills through self-care activities
• Reports changes in client status as directed by care plan
• Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

Responsibilities

• Provides services to persons who need help with day-to-day activities
• Provides health care tasks, personal hygiene services, and other related support services essential to the client's health
• Assists with transfers and ambulation
• Performs incidental household services that are an integral part of a personal care plan
• Provides companionship by reading, listening and talking with client
• Assists client in the development of independent skills through self-care activities such as toileting, clothing routines and personal hygiene
• Appropriately reports changes in client status or as directed by care plan
• Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

Requirements

• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to,supervisors, co-workers, clients) viastrong communicationskills; proficiency inthe English language may berequired
• Computer proficiency required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
