Job summary

Olsson is seeking an HFC Engineer to design and optimize Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial networks for high-speed broadband. You will size boundaries, determine routes, and allocate components using GIS data, while reviewing as-builts and field data to produce constructible plan sets.

You will work closely with engineers, project managers, and field staff to support deployment and enhancement of HFC networks, applying ESRI ArcGIS and AutoCAD tools in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s/bachelor’s degree in engineering/design or equivalent work experience preferred.
• 3–6 years of Coax/HFC design experience.
• General knowledge of HFC, DOCSIS, and FTTx networks is required.
• Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Software products is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial (HFC) networks for high‑speed broadband.
• Size serving boundaries using GIS address data and analyze large datasets.
• Determine feeder and distribution routes and drops using parcels and easements.
• Allocate fiber and coax components and review field data for constructible plans.
• Analyze aerial imagery to identify obstructions and produce plan sets with GIS tools.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, and field staff to deploy HFC networks.
