Zusammenfassung

Olsson is seeking an HFC Engineer to design and optimize Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial networks delivering high-speed broadband. You will create network architectures, size service boundaries with GIS data, and determine feeder routes while reviewing field data for constructible plan sets.

You will collaborate with engineering teams, project managers, and field engineers to deploy and enhance HFC networks, leveraging ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam tools.

Qualifikationen

• Associate’s/bachelor’s degree in engineering/design or equivalent work experience preferred.
• 3–6 years of Coax/HFC design experience.
• General knowledge of HFC, DOCSIS, and FTTx networks.
• Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Software products is preferred.
• Knowledge of LODE Data is preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, create maps and plan sets.
• Ability to edit and create PDF documents (Bluebeam or Adobe skills).
• General knowledge of OSP construction methods and best practices.

Aufgaben

• Creating network architectures, ensuring the efficient integration of fiber and coaxial components to meet performance and reliability standards.
• Sizing of serving boundaries using GIS address data; analyze, interpret, and organize large datasets.
• Determine feeder routes, distribution routes, and drops to premises by utilizing parcel, ROW, and easement documentation.
• Determine fiber and coax component allocations.
• Reviewing field staking sheets, as-Builts and field collected data to determine the optimal running line and construction method.
• Analyze aerial imagery and maps to identify existing utilities or obstructions; produce constructible plan sets using GIS software.
