Job summary

The Department of Surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville is seeking a general surgeon at the non-tenure accruing level of Clinical Assistant, Associate, or Professor to lead the Hernia and Abdominal Wall Health Program. Board eligibility/certification in General Surgery is required, with advanced training in hernias and abdominal wall reconstruction.

The candidate will help build a comprehensive hernia center, participate in GI/MIS and robotic surgery expansion,

Qualifications

• MD or DO, Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in General Surgery.
• Advanced training in hernias and abdominal wall reconstruction.
• Experience with robotic and laparoscopic approaches.
• Strong clinical and teaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain high-quality care in General Surgery and MIS.
• Provide clinical teaching of trainees in General Surgery.
• Communicate effectively with primary care physicians and referring providers.
• Assist in marketing the General Surgery Programs to community physicians.
• Participate in division and department meetings, administrative functions, and institutional committees.
