The Department of Surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville seeks a Medical Director for UF Health Jacksonville’s Comprehensive Hernia Center and Abdominal Wall Program at the non-tenure accruing level of Clinical Assistant, Associate, or Professor. The department is a tertiary referral center serving Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia and includes divisions of Gastrointestinal Surgery/Surgical Oncology, Otolaryngology, Plastic Surgery, and Trauma/Acute Care/Critical Care. The Clinical Director will build a comprehensive hernia center and elective general surgery practice, provide education to medical students and residents, and may help expand the advanced GI/MIS, robotic, and oncology programs. No trauma calls will be required. The position reports to the Chief of Gastrointestinal Surgery and Surgical Oncology and Chairman of the Department of Surgery.
The candidate must be MD or DO, Board Certified/Eligible in General Surgery with experience in all aspects of the evaluation and treatment of hernias and abdominal wall reconstruction, including minimally invasive approaches of robotic and laparoscopic surgery.
Fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Surgery/Advanced GI Surgery is preferred.
