Job summary

The Department of Surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville seeks a Medical Director for UF Health Jacksonville’s Comprehensive Hernia Center and Abdominal Wall Program at the non-tenure accruing level of Clinical Assistant, Associate, or Professor.

The department is a tertiary referral center serving Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia and includes divisions of Gastrointestinal Surgery/Surgical Oncology, Otolaryngology, Plastic Surgery, and Trauma/Acute

Qualifications

• MD or DO, Board Certified/Eligible in General Surgery.
• Experience in hernia and abdominal wall reconstruction, including minimally invasive approaches.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care in General Surgery and Minimally Invasive Surgery.
• Educate medical students and residents in the educational program.
• Maintain excellent communication with primary care physicians and referring providers.
• Assist in marketing the General Surgery Programs to community physicians and managed care organizations.
• Participate in monthly division and department meetings and institutional committees.
