Job summary

General Motors is seeking an on-site Events Coordinator for the Heritage Center and Factory One in Grand Blanc, MI (occasional reporting to Flint). You’ll manage reservations, contracts, and communications to deliver outstanding experiences for GM employees and the community.

This newly created role emphasizes cross-functional teamwork, problem-solving, and process improvements. You’ll work closely with the Heritage Operations team to ensure flawless event execution and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in marketing, communications, PR, or automotive disciplines.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in customer service, administration, marketing, or related fields.
• Proven ability to work independently within broad guidelines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with innovative solutions.
• Excellent communication across diverse audiences and cross-functional influence.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first and main point of contact for groups wanting to use the Heritage Center and Factory One.
• Review, approve, and provide suggestions on all requests.
• Make independent decisions based on judgement; seek guidance as needed.
• Manage contract creation and storage of contracts, including occasional payments.
• Maintain unwavering commitment to creating outstanding customer experience.
• Execute friendly, professional communications with customers and internal teams.
• Develop processes and pursue process improvement.
• Maintain and track utilization metrics.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly utilization reports for the team.
• Provide light Audio/Video support for events.
• Become a master user of Google Workspace and related software.
• Collaborate with Events Manager to ensure events are executed at the highest level.
• Support other Heritage Operations priorities as needed.
