Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner program.
• Board certification by appropriate certifying organization.
• DEA registration or eligibility to obtain.
• Licensed as a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner in the State of Texas.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient hepatology care in collaboration with hepatology and transplant teams.
• Obtain detailed history and perform physical examinations.
• Order and interpret diagnostic procedures (paracentesis, imaging, labs, ECGs).
• Prescribe appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments.
• Educate patients on prescribed regimens and home care.
• Document accurately in the EPIC EMR system.
• Coordinate with the transplant team for evaluations and care planning.
• Guide PA/NP students and residents; support staff and clinic coordinators.
