Job summary

Nemours Children’s Health seeks a Supervisor, Laboratory Operations for the Hematopathology service to provide technical, operational, quality, and people leadership. This role supports pediatric oncology, stem cell transplant, and clinical trials with a focus on accurate and timely results.

Responsibilities include overseeing high complexity testing, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with clinical and administrative leaders.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Medical Technology or equivalent required (e.g., HHS exam or CLIA qualifications).
• Minimum five years of practical clinical laboratory experience, including high complexity testing.
• Minimum three years in supervision or team lead role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations for high complexity hematopathology testing (bone marrow morphology, flow cytometry).
• Ensure testing accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance within turnaround times, with corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with leaders to evaluate/validate new assays, instruments, software, and workflows.
• Serve as resource for staff, physicians, and stakeholders.
• Act as liaison to oncology, stem cell transplant, clinical trials, pathology, and clinical partners.
• Maintain readiness for licensing, accreditation, and inspections; coordinate deficiency corrections.
• Lead, coach, schedule, and develop personnel; promote a safe, inclusive work environment.
• Support budget activities, staffing, inventory, and equipment and workflow metrics.
• Evaluate LIS and informatics processes; support validation and staff training.
