Job summary

City of Hope in Duarte, California is seeking dedicated registered nurses for the Hematology Unit, delivering care to patients with hematologic malignancies and those receiving CAR T-cell therapy. The role emphasizes critical thinking, strong clinical judgment, and compassionate patient care within a multidisciplinary team.

The position requires a California RN license, BSN or MSN, oncology experience, and a Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certificate (or plan to obtain within 6 months).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nursing is required.
• Current California RN license is required.
• Minimum of three years related experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card through American Heart Association is required.
• Chemotherapy/ Biotherapy Certificate (Must be obtained within 6 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment and Monitoring: conduct comprehensive assessments for hematologic malignancies; monitor vitals, labs, and treatment responses.
• Chemotherapy Administration: safely administer chemotherapy and systemic therapies; verify dosing and manage adverse reactions.
• Symptom Management: assess and manage pain, nausea, anemia, neutropenia; educate patients on self-management.
• Patient and Family Education: provide education on diagnoses, treatment plans, side effects, and adherence; connect to supportive resources.
• Care Coordination: collaborate with interdisciplinary team; coordinate diagnostic tests, appointments, and consultations.
• Shift: Full time Days - 12-shift (7:00pm - 7:30am)
