Job summary

City of Hope in Duarte, CA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit to provide comprehensive care for hematologic conditions. This full-time night shift provides CAR T-cell therapy and trial opportunities within a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Nursing, a current California RN license, 3+ years of experience, BLS CPR, and a chemotherapy/biotherapy certificate within 6 months of hire. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Nursing required.
• Current California RN license.
• Minimum of three years related experience.
• BLS CPR through American Heart Association.
• Chemotherapy/Biotherapy or Immunotherapy certificate within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments before, during, and after transplantation.
• Monitor vital signs, identify complications early, and manage transplant-related symptoms.
• Collaborate with physicians, transplant coordinators, pharmacists, social workers and other specialists.
• Coordinate treatments, procedures, medications, and specialty consultations.
• Educate patients and caregivers on the transplant process, risks, benefits, and expectations.
• Provide guidance on medication adherence, side-effect management, and recognizing complications.
• Manage symptoms such as pain, nausea, fatigue, and mucositis; provide comfort and emotional support.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and educate patients/visitors on hygiene and precautions.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record; communicate status to the care team.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree in Nursing

Current California RN license

Minimum of three (3) years related experience

Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card through American Heart Association

Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate or Chemotherapy/ Immunotherapy Certificate (Must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
