Job summary

TTUHSC School of Medicine, Odessa campus, is seeking a full-time oncologist/hematologist to provide outpatient care in Midland/Odessa clinics and inpatient care at community hospitals with robust imaging and infusion capabilities.

The role includes comprehensive exams, development of treatment regimens, patient-family communication, and collaboration with regional partners. Teaching and research opportunities are available within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent required.
• Completion of Internal Medicine Residency required.
• Completion of, or in the process of completing, a Hematology and/or Oncology Fellowship required.
• Board Eligible in Hematology or completing an ACGME accredited Hematology Fellowship, OR Board Eligible in Oncology or completing an ACGME accredited Oncology Fellowship.
• Foreign Medical Graduates: ECFMG Certification or Equivalency Certification.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive physical exams with review of medical history and lab/diagnostic testing interpretation.
• Develops and manages treatment regimens including chemotherapy, immunotherapy and supportive care.
• Communicates with patients and families about diagnoses, testing and treatment options.
• Coordinates care within the community and regional partner network.
• Participates in quality improvement and other patient care programs.
• Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures.
• Participates in teaching fellows, residents and medical students.
• Opportunities to participate in research.
