Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Hudson Valley Health Care System seeks a staff Hematologist/Oncologist to provide expert consultation and outpatient care in a dedicated Hematology/Oncology clinic.

The physician will evaluate and manage patients, coordinate with primary care and a multidisciplinary team, and participate in on-call duties. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM; details to be discussed at interview.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required; non-citizens only if VA policy allows.
• MD or equivalent degree from an approved school.
• Current full, unrestricted medical license in the United States.
• Completion of an approved residency in a core specialty; board eligibility/certification preferred.
• English proficiency in spoken and written.
• Fellowship training in hematology/oncology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert consultation and treatment in outpatient Hematology/Oncology.
• Coordinate medical management with Primary Care and multidisciplinary teams.
• Evaluate medical histories, perform physical examinations, order labs, and plan treatments.
• Provide on-call coverage as assigned.
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM; specifics discussed in interview.
