Job summary

Buffalo VA Medical Center is seeking a Hematology/Oncology physician to join a multidisciplinary team. The role includes clinical care in the outpatient clinic, coordination with primary care, and on-call duties as needed.

The position requires an MD/DO, an active US medical license, and board eligibility or certification with fellowship training as applicable. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• US citizenship requirement unless exceptions apply per VA policy.
• Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic degree from an approved school.
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in the United States.
• Residency in an ACGME- or AOA-accredited program leading to board eligibility.
• Board eligibility/certification and fellowship training as applicable.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert consultation and treatment to patients in the outpatient hematology/oncology clinic.
• Evaluate, triage, and prioritize requests from primary care providers for subspecialty consultations.
• Coordinate medical management with primary care and other specialties within a multidisciplinary team.
• Perform administrative tasks such as OPPE and peer reviews as assigned.
• Provide on-call hematology/oncology services as assigned.
