Job description

Specialty: Medical Oncology/Hematology Physician

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: 3-6 months with opportunity to extend

Shift Details: Days

Schedule:

1. Which days of the week? 5x8
2. Number of weeks out of month? 4

Work Details:

1. Patients per day: 10-18
2. EMR: Epic, Beacon chemo system

Facility Management: How does the facility manage acute leukemia and lymphoma? Patients are sent to the main hospital (25 minutes away).

Hospitalist Role: Do the hospitalists admit and round on cancer patients? Yes.

Rounding Schedule: Inpatient rounding from approximately 8:00-4:30. Every other week, inpatient volume is higher, with no clinic. During less busy inpatient weeks, there could be 2-4 hours of clinic daily, depending on census and volume.

Non-Rounding Weeks: Clinic schedule from approximately 8-4:30.

Practice Setting:

• Academic/Training Board Certified
• Split between clinic and inpatient oncology (50/50)
• Call coverage: 1:5, adjustable based on locum preference
• Team includes: 18 oncologists, 12 advanced practice providers, 4 radiation oncologists, 2 thoracic surgeons, 6 surgical oncologists

Travel Logistics: Airport: Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport
