Experienced Hematologist/Oncologist needed for a locum tenens assignment in Virginia. This 240-day opportunity, starting 07/21/2025, involves working at two clinic locations affiliated with a hospital. The schedule is 40 hours per week, with Mondays and Tuesdays in Lebanon, Wednesdays and Thursdays in Abingdon, and Fridays in Abingdon when on call. The role focuses on both hematology and oncology cases, with a mix of consults and follow-ups for adult patients with benign and malignant cancers. No pediatric cases or procedures are involved. The ideal candidate should be comfortable managing a diverse range of hematology and oncology conditions in an outpatient setting.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Provide comprehensive hematology and oncology care for adult patients
• Conduct initial consultations and follow-up appointments
• Diagnose and treat various benign and malignant cancers
• Manage hematological disorders
• Develop and implement treatment plans
• Interpret laboratory results and imaging studies
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for patient care
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Epic EMR
• Participate in tumor boards and case conferences as needed
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses and treatments
• Adhere to all hospital and clinic policies and procedures
Additional Information:
• Must be licensed to practice medicine in Virginia
• Board certification in Hematology and Oncology required
• Experience with Epic EMR system preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in multiple clinic locations
• No pediatric cases or procedures involved
