Hematology/Oncology Opening: Conway, SC
Located 10 miles from Myrtle Beach

Position Details

• Full-time, Permanent, Employed
• Expanding team due to patient demand; currently have 2 oncologists, seeking a 3rd and eventually a 4th to reach full capacity
• Candidate Parameters: Fellowship-trained, Board-certified or eligible in hematology/oncology
• Tumor Boards: Twice monthly (breast and pulmonary; GI and ENT)

Typical Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday
36 patient contact hours with 4 administrative hours per week
1 hour for new patient visits; 30-45 minutes for follow-ups
1:3 call ratio for consult-only services; goal to shift to 1:4
> Rounding involves 1-week blocks with 3-5 consults weekly, performed by the physician on call

Scope of Practice

• 40% Hematology, 60% Oncology
• Approximately 14 patients per day in the clinic
• Each physician supported by their own RN and dedicated NP for infusion services

Cancer Center

• Built in 2021
• Hematology/Oncology Clinic and Infusion Center
• Patient Navigator hired in 2021
• Palliative Services available on campus
• Participation in Duke Tumor Board
• Fast-track process for patients to be seen/treated at MUSC (Medical University of South Carolina)
• Clinical Trials planned, aiming for site accreditation in 15-28 months; working towards CoC accreditation
