Job description

Seeking BE/BC Hematology Oncology Physician to join a talented team. The current team includes 2 oncologists, with plans to add a 3rd and eventually a 4th provider, aiming for 4 full-time providers in total.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

• Outpatient and inpatient role
• Take on Director responsibilities
• Standard office hours (Mon-Fri / 8am-5pm)
• Protected administrative time (4 hours per week)
• Call Schedule: Shared call, approximately 1:2 rotation for after-hours oncology consultations
• Support Staff: Dedicated nurse, APPs, and specialized oncology nursing team
• Current team: 3 physicians and 1 APP
• EMR: Cerner

PATIENT VOLUME & CENSUS:

• Average Patient Volume: 18-22 patients/day (1hr NP, 30-45min F/U)
• Patient Census: Primarily adult patients with a range of cancers and hematologic disorders, from early-stage to advanced
• Demographics: Mix of rural and suburban patients, many with complex care needs

VISIT TYPES AND PROCEDURES:

• Visit Types: 45% Hematology, 55% Oncology
• Visit Types: Initial diagnosis, treatment planning, chemotherapy follow-ups, management of hematologic conditions
• Procedures: Bone marrow biopsies, port insertions, chemotherapy administration, clinical trial oversight

FACILITIES & SUPPORT:

• Clinic: 10-chair infusion center, onsite lab and pharmacy, two additional infusion centers
• Imaging/Diagnostics: PET, 64-slice CT, mammography, breast MRI, high-definition endoscopy/bronchoscopy
• Tumor Boards: Bi-weekly (breast, PCC, GI, ENT)
• Surgical Referrals: Breast, colorectal, vascular, bone marrow transplants (referrals to Charleston)
• Teaching: Family Medicine residency (years 3-4, Campbell University)
• Research & Trials: No active trials currently; access to ~450 protocols via Duke

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

• Base salary for 1-3 years, then RVU-based
• $35K sign-on bonus
