Job summary

Labcorp in Raritan, NJ is seeking a Technologist to join a fast-paced clinical laboratory setting. Work schedule includes nights with occasional Saturdays, performing routine and advanced testing while ensuring quality and compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a chemical or biological science or MLS, with at least 1 year of lab testing experience; ASCP/AMT certification preferred. Candidates must be detail-oriented and capable of handling multiple tasks in a high-volume

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology with 1+ year of clinical lab testing experience OR MLS degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• Ability to work in high-volume laboratory environment and pass color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
