Job summary

Valley Health System is seeking a Technical Coordinator, Hematology, to oversee the Hematology unit within the Laboratory, ensuring accurate patient result reporting, quality control, quality assurance, and accreditation compliance. The role requires leadership in Hematology, Coagulation, and Urinalysis, with ongoing staff training and documentation of competency.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree required in Clinical Laboratory Science or Chemical, Biological, or Physical Science.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred in CLS/chemical/biological/physical science.
• 5 years of clinical laboratory experience with a focus in Hematology.
• ASCP or equivalent board certification required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Hematology unit operations, reporting, and QA/QC.
• Maintain staff competency and provide training of personnel.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies with cross-team collaboration.
• Support LIS, QA, and Education initiatives with other team members.
• Maintain adequate inventory and assist in personnel scheduling.
• Generate reports and present data in areas of expertise.
• Review/Revise procedures per accreditation standards and communicate updates.
