Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for the Helping Through Him ministry.
• Coordinate volunteers, resources, and partnerships aligned with Southland’s mission.
• Oversee inventory and processing of donated items and requests.
• Schedule pickups and transport of donated furniture and appliances.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and support volunteers.
• Assist with pastoral care on the NIC campus and be on-call as scheduled.
• Participate in NIC campus staff meetings and church events.

Position:Helping Through Him Ministry Leader

Remote Status: On-Site

Position Summary: The Helping Through Him Ministry Leader advances Southland’s Missional Clarity by providing leadership, vision, and operational oversight for the ministry. This role ensures effective coordination of volunteers, resources, and partner relationships with organizational excellence to Extend Grace Generously to those in need.

Essential Responsibilities

Helping Through Him

• Leadership & Oversight
• Provide direction and overall management ensuring the vision of the ministry aligns with Southland’s mission and values.
• Evaluate ministry effectiveness and implement improvements as needed.
• Collaborate and coordinate with applicable staff to identify best utilization of the NIC campus property and structures utilized by Helping Through Him and other ministries. (Manage partnership with YMCA in sports field agreement.)

Operations & Inventory Management

• Oversee inventory management systems including tracking, organizing, and repairing/maintaining donated items.
• Work alongside the Helping Through Him Ministry Coordinator to receive and process requests and referrals, including those from all Southland campuses and strategic partners.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of requests and distributions.

Client Services Coordination

• Schedule pick-up appointments for individuals and families receiving assistance.
• Arrange pick-up and transportation of donated large items such as furniture and appliances.
• Maintain clear communication with recipients regarding timelines and expectations.
• Recruit, vet, train, schedule, and communicate with volunteers.
• Provide guidance and oversight to ensure volunteers are supported and equipped to serve effectively.

Pastoral Care

• Assist with pastoral care for the NIC campus including being on-call as scheduled.
• Perform funerals and weddings as needed.

Other

• Duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Participate in NIC campus staff team meetings and development opportunities.
• Serve with the NIC campus staff for Sunday services, Meal Pack, Easter, Fall Kickoff, Christmas Joy, and Christmas services.
