Job summary

The Kansas Department of Transportation is seeking a helpdesk technician to provide on-site support in Topeka, KS. TEKsystems has supported the state for 15 years and offers an exclusive contract position for a candidate with basic technical schooling and a drive to begin a career with a large public entity.

Primary responsibilities include end-user support, hardware/software deployment, imaging, asset management, and documenting processes.

Qualifications

  • Six (6) months of experience advising and assisting computer users in a distributed computing environment.
  • Education may substitute for experience as determined relevant by the agency

Responsibilities

  • Providing end-user technical support (in person, phone, remote)
  • Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer hardware and software
  • Imaging, deploying, and redeploying devices
  • Maintaining hardware and software inventory and asset records
  • Supporting LAN, Wi-Fi, communication, and mobile devices
  • Setting up audio/visual equipment for meetings
  • Creating technical documentation and knowledge base articles

Job description

The Kansas Department of Transportation is the state agency responsible for planning, building, and maintaining Kansas' roads, highways, bridges, and other transportation systems to keep people and goods moving safely and efficiently across the state. TEKsystems has been supporting the state through staffing for 15 years, including the Department of Transportation. They are looking for one helpdesk technician to be on site in Topeka. This an exclusive opportunity, and a great opportunity for an individual with some technical schooling to get their foot in the door at a large public entity.

Primary responsibilities
  • Providing end-user technical support (in person, phone, remote)
  • Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer hardware and software
  • Imaging, deploying, and redeploying devices
  • Maintaining hardware and software inventory and asset records
  • Supporting LAN, Wi-Fi, communication, and mobile devices
  • Setting up audio/visual equipment for meetings

This is a Contract position based out of Topeka, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
