Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Helpdesk Technician to join the IT Operations team in Columbia, MD. The role handles 10-30 tickets daily, with support that can be in person or remote. Typical duties include AD, Windows OS, and O365 troubleshooting, and documenting resolutions in Track-IT.

This contract position offers an onsite work environment in Columbia, MD, with benefits and a 37.5-hour work week. Applications close Aug 21, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Reset passwords and review group memberships in Active Directory.
• Troubleshoot Windows OS: printer, network, file shares, updates, malware scanning, and hardware imaging.
• Troubleshoot O365 access issues and document requirements; escalate where appropriate.
• Document tickets in Track-IT and keep knowledge articles up to date.

Job description

Our customer is in need of a Helpdesk Technician to join the IT Operations team which consists of the Supervisor and two other technicians. On any given day the technician will take 10-30 tickets per day. The end users can call, email or put a ticket in for resolution. The support can be in person or remote.

• Active Directory- Reset Passwords, Review Group Membership
• Windows OS- Troubleshoot basic functions, printing, network connectivity, access to file shares, Windows and application updates, scanning for malware, imaging of hardware.
• O365- Troubleshooting access issues, documenting requirements and escalating where appropriate.

The technician will also be required to document properly and update knowledge articles in Track-IT the ticketing system our customer uses.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Hours -8:30 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, with a 1-hour lunch. So we work a total of 37.5 hours per week.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
