Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 seasons auditing and abstracting medical records.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and PHI/HIPAA rules.

Responsibilities

• Schedule/confirm appointments with providers as needed.
• Locate and review assigned medical charts for abstraction.
• Enter data into the applicable software system with accuracy.
• Prioritize tasks to meet established deadlines.
• Identify trends and opportunities for documentation improvements.
• Handle calls and voicemails from providers.
• Occasionally go onsite to provider offices to collect records.
