Description du poste

Olive Asset Management is the overseas asset management platform of Noah Holdings (NYSE: NOAH; HKEX: 6686), a leading wealth and asset management group serving high-net-worth individuals and institutional clients worldwide.

Olive specializes in alternative investments across private equity, hedge funds, and direct investments. As part of Noah Holdings’ global platform, Olive combines institutional-grade investment processes with deep client insights to deliver differentiated alternative investment solutions.

About the Role

We are hiring a Hedge Fund Product Lead based in the United States, either in New York or Palo Alto, to lead Olive Asset Management’s hedge fund product franchise end to end.

This is a hands‑on investment leadership role with a clear mandate: build a multi‑strategy hedge fund product architecture, source and screen hedge fund managers rigorously, convert high‑conviction ideas into platform products through commercial negotiation, and maintain disciplined ongoing investment monitoring.

Success in this role will depend less on pure sales coverage and more on product selection judgment, manager access, investment due diligence capabilities, and the ability to work closely with internal and external stakeholders across the U.S. and Asia.

The successful candidate will personally drive manager research and due diligence, lead a team of approximately 5–8 professionals, and partner closely with risk, legal, compliance, operations, and distribution teams.

Key Responsibilities
Hedge Fund Product Strategy & Platform Architecture
  • Design and continuously refine a full‑spectrum hedge fund product strategy framework across major strategy categories, including equity long/short, global macro, multi‑strategy, credit, quantitative, event‑driven, and relative value.
  • Establish clear product selection criteria, portfolio construction principles, and platform allocation logic aligned with client risk profiles and market regimes.
  • Own the long‑term hedge fund product roadmap in partnership with senior investment leadership and international product stakeholders.
  • Proactively source, identify, and screen global hedge fund managers, with a focus on institutional‑quality GPs.
  • Conduct rigorous manager due diligence across investment process, risk management, operational infrastructure, track‑record integrity, capacity, and alignment of interest.
  • Build, maintain, and expand a high‑quality network of relationships with leading hedge fund managers and industry intermediaries to support a continuous product pipeline.
  • Lead qualitative and quantitative screening across primary opportunities and, where relevant, fund of hedge funds or multi‑manager structures.
  • Form independent investment views and present clear, decision‑ready recommendations to investment committees and senior stakeholders.
Product Introduction & Commercial Negotiation
  • Own the full product introduction lifecycle, from initial manager engagement through investment committee approval, documentation, and platform onboarding.
  • Lead commercial negotiations on fees, terms, capacity reservations, side letters, and other commercial arrangements to secure favorable outcomes for clients and the firm.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional workstreams across legal, compliance, operations, risk, and distribution to support controlled and efficient product launches across relevant jurisdictions.
Investment Monitoring & Ongoing Oversight
  • Design and operate ongoing monitoring frameworks covering performance attribution, risk exposures, style drift, operational changes, liquidity, and key‑person risk.
  • Lead regular manager reviews, follow‑up due diligence, and escalation processes when material issues arise.
  • Produce concise investment theses, monitoring reports, and hold / add / redeem recommendations for internal stakeholders and client‑facing teams.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Partnership
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team focused on hedge fund research, product selection, and platform management.
  • Partner with distribution and client coverage teams on product education and sales enablement, ensuring recommendations remain aligned with suitability and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Represent the hedge fund platform in investment committees, internal forums, and external manager meetings.
  • Collaborate closely with Asia‑based product, platform, and distribution stakeholders to support cross‑border product introduction in a controlled and compliant manner.
Qualifications
  • Typically 8+ years of relevant experience in hedge fund research, manager selection, multi‑asset or alternatives product management, fund of hedge funds, private banking / wealth investment solutions, or a closely related institutional investment role.
  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience in manager screening, due diligence, and product introduction, beyond pure relationship management or distribution‑only coverage.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain productive relationships with reputable global hedge fund managers; a track record of manager access and successful product introductions is highly valued.
  • Strong command of major hedge fund strategies and the ability to construct a coherent multi‑strategy product architecture for a client platform.
  • Experience leading commercial negotiations on investment terms and fees.
  • Experience establishing or running investment monitoring frameworks for alternative investment products.
  • Experience leading or mentoring investment professionals is preferred.
  • Experience engaging U.S.‑domiciled or U.S.‑marketed hedge fund GPs, prime brokers, administrators, and other ecosystem counterparties is highly valued.
  • Strong analytical judgment, with the ability to form independent investment views and communicate them clearly in writing and verbally.
  • Hands‑on execution mindset, with the ability to personally drive due diligence, manager meetings, term negotiations, and monitoring workstreams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across investment, risk, legal, compliance, operations, and distribution teams, including cross‑border collaboration with Asia‑based stakeholders.
  • Comfort working across U.S. and Asia time zones.
  • Working knowledge of the U.S. securities regulatory framework applicable to alternative product research, product introduction, and distribution enablement is preferred, including SEC oversight of investment advisers and private funds, Reg D private placement concepts, Accredited Investor and Qualified Purchaser frameworks, and related private‑fund marketing considerations.
  • Relevant FINRA registrations, such as Series 7, 63, 65, and/or 66, or eligibility and willingness to obtain them if required by the employing entity’s registration model, are preferred.
  • Familiarity with common U.S. and cross‑border fund structures, such as Delaware LPs and Cayman master‑feeder structures, as well as side‑letter and MFN market practice, is an advantage.
  • Ability to partner with Asia‑based distribution and product governance teams so U.S.-sourced managers can be introduced to the platform in a controlled and cross‑border compliant manner.
  • Awareness of differences between U.S. frameworks, such as AI / QP and Reg D, and Asia frameworks, such as Hong Kong Professional Investor and suitability concepts, is a plus.
  • Mandarin communication ability is preferred, given regular coordination with Asia‑based colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
  • CFA charterholder or equivalent advanced investment credential is preferred.
