Job summary

JPMorganChase seeks an Hedge Fund Credit Risk Associate within the CIB Credit Risk Management Team. You will evaluate counterparty credit exposure for hedge funds, perform financial analysis, and set credit exposure strategies across trading products including margin considerations and legal negotiations.

You will collaborate with Sales & Trading, Prime Brokerage, and Legal teams while mentoring junior staff and leading efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in finance or related field.
Minimum 3 years of professional work experience within financial services.
Understanding of accounting, trading products and an interest in markets.
Strong interest in client interaction and outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and perform well under pressure on teams in a demanding environment.
Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Responsibilities

Assess creditworthiness of clients and assign appropriate credit ratings.
Perform customer due diligence and financial analysis and summarize in written credit approval memos and reviews.
Review and approve trading activity, including recommending margin requirements as well as structural enhancements.
Set and communicate credit exposure appetite across trading products utilizing internal exposure methodologies.
Oversee legal negotiations for traded products.
Be principal contact for and partner with colleagues from Sales & Trading, Prime Brokerage, Investor Client Management, Treasury & Security Services, Legal, Investment Banking Coverage, Syndicated & Leveraged Finance, Debt Capital Markets, and Ratings Advisory.
Understand market developments and industry trends and assess the impact on client portfolios and strategies.
Demonstrate ability to mentor/guide junior resources.
Lead group wide efficiency projects.
