Currently only considering candidates with 1–2 years of total experience. Fund accounting experience in hedge funds or experience in Big 4 working with Hedge Funds is required. CPA is a plus.

I'm working with a fundamental long/short equity investment firm. This is a unique opportunity for a junior-to-mid-level fund accountant to step into a high-performing team and gain broad exposure across fund structures, systems, and strategic projects.

Core Responsibilities

• Maintain accounting records and support the preparation of financial statements and tax workpapers
• Reconcile month-end NAVs and resolve discrepancies with administrators
• Coordinate with operations on trade-level data, cash, and market value reconciliation
• Manage expense accruals and fund payments, including budgeting support
• Assist with audit and internal reporting processes
• Contribute to the development and refinement of internal controls and workflows

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in fund accounting, ideally in alternative investments
• Strong grasp of GAAP accounting, journal entries, and audit processes
• Familiarity with incentive fee calculations and investor allocations
• Basic understanding of public and private market instruments including derivatives
• Comfortable with Excel; experience with fund accounting systems is a plus
• Detail-oriented, communicative, and comfortable working cross-functionally
