Job summary

The City of Laredo is seeking a reliable driver to operate heavy trucks including dump trucks, street maintenance vehicles, tractors, and lowboy trailers for city street projects.

You will perform asphalt patching, equipment maintenance, and general street maintenance tasks while adhering to safety rules. A Texas CDL (Class A or B) and a clean driving record are required. Drug/alcohol testing and background checks apply.

Qualifications

• At least one year of truck driving experience.
• Valid Texas CDL Class A or B with satisfactory MVR.

Responsibilities

• Drives heavy trucks including dump trucks, street maintenance vehicles, tractors, and lowboy trailers.
• Performs street maintenance work, asphalt patching, and operates street equipment.
• Maintains vehicles and equipment in proper working order.
• Cleans streets with street sweeper and operates related machinery.
• Checks drains, digs, and assists with paving projects as needed.
• Drives City vehicle for City business and performs other duties as assigned.
