Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical repair experience desirable or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Operates grader, compactor, scraper, backhoe, dozer or related heavy equipment used in moving, covering and compacting waste at the county landfill.
• Monitors loads and areas to ensure compliance with state and federal permits.
• Responds to public requests and concerns; communicates rules and fees.
• Performs inspections of loads for compliance and safety; reports hazards.
• Assists with maintenance of vehicles and equipment; may perform simple repairs.
