Job summary

WME Express seeks an experienced Heavy Machinery Operator to operate and test 20-ton mining vehicles. You will perform inspections, support testing, and relay feedback to engineering teams while adhering to safety and DOT standards.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years on heavy equipment, experience with haul trucks, and the ability to travel up to 50%. CDL-A is a plus, though not required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of heavy equipment operating experience.
• Experience with rigid-frame or articulated haul trucks preferred.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass required checks.
• Able to drive for extended periods and meet DOT requirements.
• CDL-A is a plus but not required.

Heavy Machinery Operator

Location: Safford, AZ
Pay: $32/hour
Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site

The Job

We are hiring an experienced Heavy Machinery Operator to operate and test large 20-ton mining vehicles. This position involves safely driving heavy equipment, completing inspections, and providing feedback to engineering teams.

What You’ll Do

• Operate and back 20-ton mining vehicles
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Complete DVIRs and report equipment issues
• Support vehicle hardware and software testing
• Provide feedback to engineers on vehicle performance
• Operate other fleet vehicles when needed
• Follow all safety and DOT requirements

Requirements

• 5+ years of heavy equipment operating experience
• Experience with rigid-frame or articulated haul trucks preferred
• Comfortable operating and backing large mining vehicles
• Clean driving record
• Able to pass background check, road test, drug test, MVR, and DOT physical
• Able to drive for extended periods
• CDL-A is a plus, but not required
• Interest in autonomous vehicle technology

Travel

Must be willing to travel up to 50%. Initial training may take place in Sunol, CA before working in Safford, AZ.
