Job summary

The Department of the Navy is seeking a Rigging Work (Forklift Operator) to operate forklifts capable of lifting 10,000 pounds or more and to assist in rigging, fabricating, installing, and repairing ship rigging and related components. The role may require travel to multiple naval shipyards and sites ranging from Puget Sound to Pearl Harbor.

Applicants must meet federal requirements and be able to obtain security clearance; physical requirements include lifting up to 100 pounds and possible

Qualifications

• Experience in rigging up hoisting and pulling gear for lifting and moving loads.
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy loads.

Responsibilities

• Assist journeyman riggers with rigging up hoisting and pulling gear for lifting, moving, and positioning heavy loads.
• Assist in fabricating, installing, and repairing standing and running rigging and related items such as slings and nets.
