Job summary

The Department of the Navy seeks a Rigging Worker (Forklift Operator) to support multiple naval sites, including San Diego and Pearl Harbor. Positions are within the UIC limits and require U.S. citizenship and security vetting.

Open 10/14/2025 to 10/13/2026. Travel may be occasional; relocation may be authorized. Full-time, bargaining unit may apply. Salary ranges from $22.23 to $34.33 per hour depending on location and duties.

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
• May travel domestically and internationally as required (CONUS/OCONUS).
• May lift up to 100 pounds and work in varied environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist journeyman riggers in rigging up hoisting and pulling gear for lifting, moving, and positioning heavy loads.
• Assist in fabricating, installing, and repairing standing and running rigging and related gear (slings, towing bridles, nets).
• Operate electric, gasoline, or diesel powered forklift trucks capable of lifting loads of 10,000 pounds or more.
• Drive forklift trucks in outside storage areas and through narrow aisles, including rough or muddy terrain.
