Job summary

BELMONT Search is seeking an experienced Estimator for heavy highway and civil projects in the Philadelphia region. You will set bid numbers for PennDOT and NJDOT lettings from advertisement through bid day, and carry them into buyout.

You will produce quantity takeoffs and production-based pricing, with ownership reviewing the numbers on bid day. Your takeoff, production rates, and final bid are your responsibility; ownership reviews them with you on bid day, with a clear path to senior

Qualifications

• 3+ years estimating heavy highway or heavy civil construction.
• Production-based pricing rather than unit price lookup.
• Familiarity with state DOT bidding systems and prequalification.
• Work won at a bid number that held.

Responsibilities

• PennDOT, NJDOT and authority lettings from advertisement through bid day.
• Quantity takeoff and production-based pricing using crew and equipment rates.
• Solicit and level subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Read plans, specifications and specials for risk.
• Bid day review with ownership.
• Buyout and first months of production.
