Job summary

Heavy Haul, LLC is seeking a capable Heavy Haul Dispatcher/Coordinator to efficiently dispatch oversized and overweight loads. You will brief drivers on load details, routes, and safety norms, coordinating with customers and the operations team to ensure timely deliveries.

You will manage multiple shipments, answer inquiries, and ensure adherence to DOT rules, permits, and safety standards while maintaining clear communication with drivers and clients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; logistics certifications a plus.
• Previous experience in heavy haul/transport dispatching preferred.
• Class A CDL preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations, permits, and oversized load requirements.
• Proficient with dispatch software, GPS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; multitasking ability.
• Office environment with drivers and customers via phone/email.
• Knowledge of Heavy Equipment/Construction Equipment.

Responsibilities

The company provides heavy-duty trucking and transportation services to customers in the construction, industrial, and related industries.

What we are looking for:

We are currently seeking a Heavy Haul Dispatcher / Coordinator. The Heavy Haul Dispatcher is responsible for the coordination and efficient dispatch of heavy haul trucks to transport oversized and overweight loads. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously. The dispatcher assures that all drivers are fully briefed on load details, routes, and safety regulations. Dispatchers will work closely with customers, drivers, and the operations team to ensure timely delivery of goods.

Dispatching & Scheduling:

• Coordinate and schedule heavy haul shipments, ensuring optimal routing for oversized and overweight loads.
• Assign drivers to loads based on load requirements, driver availability, and safety considerations.
• Monitor the progress of shipments and provide real-time updates to customers and management.

Communication:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, customers, and other stakeholders regarding shipment details and issues.
• Maintain clear and constant communication with drivers to ensure adherence to schedules and safety protocols.
• Resolve any on-the-road issues, including delays, equipment breakdowns, and route changes.

Compliance & Documentation:

• Ensure all shipments comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including permits, weight limits, and route restrictions.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of all shipments, including load details, delivery times, and any incidents.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and clearances for oversized loads.
• Monitor and enforce adherence to safety standards and procedures for all heavy haul operations.
• Assist in accident investigations and reporting, ensuring that all incidents are documented and addressed.
• Provide drivers with pre-trip safety briefings and ensure that all equipment is inspected and in compliance with safety regulations.

Customer Service:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and repeat business.
• Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly, providing updates and solutions as needed.

Administrative Duties:

• Utilize dispatch software and other tools to manage and track shipments.
• Prepare and submit reports on dispatch activities, including performance metrics and any issues encountered.
• Collaborate with the operations team to improve dispatch efficiency and service delivery.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics or transportation is a plus.
• Previous experience in heavy haul or transportation dispatching is strongly preferred.
