Larkin Express Logistics, LLC in Charleston, SC is seeking a Heavy Haul Dispatcher to be the primary contact for pricing and operating oversized freight. You will develop freight scope, manage load plans, and ensure DOT compliance while coordinating with customers and carriers.

The role emphasizes scheduling, route optimization, documentation, and continuous process improvement in a fast-paced transportation environment. Heavy haul experience is required.

Formación

• 2+ years in heavy haul/over-dimensional freight.
• Knowledge of port operations.
• Pricing knowledge for project freight and oversize loads.
• Familiarity with heavy-haul equipment types.
• Understanding state permit guidelines and escort requirements.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain customer profiles and enter shipments in McLeod software.
• Solicit freight quotations for spot and contract markets.
• Manage carrier data and negotiate freight contracts.
• Schedule and manage pickup and deliveries of shipments.
• Maintain continuous communication with carriers and customers to ensure a high-quality freight movement process.
• Schedule pickup and delivery and dispatch drivers in accordance with established procedures.
• Optimize routes considering distance, traffic, and delivery schedules to maximize efficiency.
• Maintain and update information in operating systems, tracking shipments to completion.
• Coordinate daily carrier activities with customers and operations team.
• Adhere to operating procedures while seeking improvements.
• Address and resolve issues or delays during transportation.
• Ensure accurate documentation for each shipment (BOLs, receipts).
• Maintain records of all transactions and activities related to dispatching.
• Stay informed about transportation regulations and ensure compliance.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.

Larkin Express Operations/Dispatcher

The individual in the Heavy Haul Dispatcher role is a trusted, central point of contact for pricing and operating standard and oversized freight. Being able to develop freight scope, manage to load plans, and working with DOT requirements will be key for triaging time and working with both internal and external customers on requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain customer profiles and enter shipments into McLeod software
• Solicit freight quotations for Spot and Contract markets
• Manage carrier data and negotiate freight contracts
• Schedule and manage pickup and deliveries of shipments.
• Maintain continuous communication with carriers and customers to ensure a high-quality freight movement process
• Schedule pickup and delivery and dispatch drivers in accordance with established procedures.
• Optimizing routes with factors such as distance, traffic, and delivery schedules to maximize efficiency.
• Maintain and update accurate information in company’s operating systems, tracking shipments to completion
• Coordinating daily carrier activities with customers and operations team
• Adhere to established operating procedures while looking for opportunities to measure and improve
• Address and resolve any issues or delays that may arise during transportation.
• Ensure accurate and complete documentation for each shipment, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and other relevant paperwork.
• Maintain records of all transactions, communications, and activities related to dispatching.
• Stay informed about transportation regulations and ensure that all dispatch activities comply with local, state, and federal laws.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

• At least Two (2) years of Heavy Haul/ Over Dimensional Freight
• Must have knowledge of port operations
• Knowledge of pricing Project Freight, Over Dimensional, and Super Loads
• Knowledge of different equipment types used for heavy haul trucking
• Must know state permit guidelines and escort requirements.
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment

Located in: Charleston, SC / Greensboro, NC / Greenville, SC.

Compensation commensurate with experience.
