Job summary

Vaco is seeking a Heavy Haul Project Coordinator in Jacksonville, FL to support project managers and stakeholders in transportation project execution. You will coordinate shipments, track progress, and communicate with drivers and carriers to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

The ideal candidate has a strong dispatch or transportation operations background, works well with drivers, and thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment where priorities change rapidly.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of dispatch or transportation operations experience.
• Previous experience working directly with drivers is required.
• Strong customer service experience within logistics or transportation, including significant phone communication.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and multi-state U.S. geography.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent follow-through.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple shipments, projects, and priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers with the daily coordination and execution of transportation projects.
• Monitor shipments from pickup through final delivery and provide accurate, real-time Track & Trace updates.
• Track project milestones, shipment status, and potential service issues.
• Ensure SOPs are consistently followed.
• Identify transportation issues and provide prompt, effective solutions to minimize disruptions.
• Apply and document accessorial charges as necessary.
• Work extended hours when required to support project and customer needs.
