Copper River Technologies in Virginia Beach, VA seeks an experienced Journeyman Heavy Gasoline Equipment Mechanic to support NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic facilities and the Navy 3M Maintenance Program. The role covers preventative and corrective maintenance on a broad range of gasoline-powered vehicles and heavy equipment.

Ideal candidates will troubleshoot and repair gasoline engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems, work independently, and maintain accurate service records.

Qualifications

• Complete Navy 3M Maintenance Program training
• Valid driver\'s license required
• Journeyman-level experience as a heavy gasoline or heavy equipment mechanic
• Troubleshooting and repair of gasoline engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, gasoline-powered equipment, heavy tracked and wheeled construction equipment, and gasoline generators
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
• Strong safety and environmental compliance knowledge

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on heavy and light vehicles and equipment following the Navy\'s 3M Maintenance Program
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Conduct routine services including: Oil and filter changes; Fluid inspections and replacements; Tire repair and replacement; Brake inspections and repairs; Electrical troubleshooting and repairs
• Complete and sign 3M maintenance work reports documenting work performed, deficiencies, and recommendations
• Research and provide parts ordering information to Government personnel
• Maintain high-quality workmanship with minimal rework or quality deficiencies
• Follow all safety, environmental, and lockout/tagout procedures
• Assist with project schedules, cost estimates, and technical evaluations as needed
• Coordinate effectively with project managers, Government representatives, and team members
