R-2 Contractors, a leader in civil and underground construction, is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair diesel trucks and DOT vehicles in Prineville, Oregon. You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and keep accurate records to ensure safety and efficiency of the on‑road fleet.

Join a team that values precision and grit; CDL is preferred, own tools are required, and the role demands physical work with lifting as needed.

Competenze

• Minimum 6+ years of Heavy Equipment / diesel truck experience.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance.
• Able to lift up to 100 pounds and perform physical labor.
• Must have own tools; specialty tools provided by company.
• CDL Class A or B preferred or willingness to obtain one.
• Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

Pay Range

$30 – $65 an hour DOE

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our growing team in Prineville, Oregon. As a Truck/Heavy Equipment Mechanic at R-2 Contractors, you will play a crucial role in the upkeep and performance of our on-road fleet. This position involves diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel trucks and DOT vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, and repair Heavy Equipment/ diesel trucks and DOT vehicles
• Conduct preventative maintenance and DOT inspections
• Document all repairs and maintenance using proper work order systems
• Operate shop tools and equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members

Requirements

• 6+ years of Heavy Equipment/ diesel truck heavy equipment mechanic experience required
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform physical labor
• Must have own tools; specialty tools provided by company
• CDL Class A or B preferred, or willingness to obtain one
• Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
