Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking an Equipment Mechanic in Howell, MI to perform servicing, maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment and tools. The role requires operating various lifting and hand tools, plus a CDL or valid drivers license may be preferred.

Pre-employment screens may apply, and a comprehensive benefits package is offered. The candidate should have experience with hydraulic systems and welding, with ASE or fleet-maintenance certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid drivers license.
• Experience working on hydraulic systems on fleet vehicles preferred.
• Ability to operate the type of machinery being worked on.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs including replacing worn or damaged parts.
• Provide regular servicing using jacks, cranes and handheld tools to dismantle/reassemble heavy equipment.
• Adjust engines and assemblies such as gear transmissions and hydraulics.
• Inspect critical parts for wear/damage with specialized tools.
• Test equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation.
• Clean components with approved solvents.
• Weld components as needed (gas or electric welder).
