Heavy Equipment Technician - 2nd shift

Position Type:

Full-Time

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM, and Saturday 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM, as needed

Pay Range:

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour DOE

Role Overview:

A Heavy Equipment Technician at Silver Creek is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting large machinery used in mining operations, including excavators, bulldozers, haul trucks, and loaders. The role requires a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, working in a fast-paced environment with opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance and Repair:
   • Perform maintenance and repairs to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
   • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
   • Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, axles, and related systems.
2. Inspection and Diagnostics:
   • Conduct inspections to assess machinery condition and prevent breakdowns.
   • Use diagnostic tools to test and identify issues.
3. Documentation:
   • Keep detailed records of maintenance and repairs.
   • Follow safety regulations and policies.
4. Collaboration:
   • Work with operators and supervisors to minimize downtime.
   • Mentor junior mechanics.
5. Safety Compliance:
   • Ensure all work complies with safety protocols and standards.
   • Adhere to safe work practices with heavy machinery and chemicals.
6. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience with heavy machinery, preferably in mining or industrial settings.
