Job summary

Louisiana Cat in Lake Charles, LA is seeking a Rental Equipment Technician to diagnose, repair and maintain heavy rental equipment. You will read manuals and schematics and perform repairs using hand and power tools in a fast-paced, safety‑conscious shop environment.

This full-time position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of field experience, strong mechanical aptitude, possess or be ready to participate in the Louisiana Cat Tooling Program, and keep a customer‑facing,

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on all components of heavy rental equipment including engines, power trains, hydraulics and fuel systems.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, mechanical and electrical schematics, and other specifications to determine repair method.
• Replace or repair defective components, using hand tools, gauges and testing equipment.
• Assemble and install electrical, mechanical and hydraulic equipment using hand or power tools.
• Rebuild, install and align pump assemblies utilizing safe rigging methods.
• Create, track and formalize work order documents on a timely basis.
• Be flexible with changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
