Job summary

MacAllister Machinery Co., Inc. is seeking a Technician to perform mechanical services on new and used heavy equipment in the service shop.

The role includes testing, repairing, rebuilding equipment, ordering parts and writing service reports while adhering to safety rules and 5S standards. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of heavy-equipment experience, a diesel repair background, and solid knowledge of hydraulics, powertrain and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical background from vocational school with diesel equipment repair.
• 3–5 years of mechanical experience with heavy equipment, preferably Caterpillar.
• Solid understanding of hydraulics, powertrain and electrical systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze and improve work processes.
• Good communication, professionalism with customers and coworkers.
• Basic computer skills: MS Word, Excel, and databases.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety rules and maintains shop 5S standards.
• Diagnoses and repairs equipment in the service shop.
• Completes service time reporting, time allocation, and tracks parts charged/returned.
• Maintains customer satisfaction by meeting needs and deadlines.
• Maintains company tools and equipment in good condition.
