Job summary

The Ground Up, Houston-based leader in sustainable waste recycling, seeks a Heavy Equipment & Service Operator Grade 1. Operate wheel loaders and other heavy equipment reliably, emphasizing safety and customer service on wholesale sites in the Houston area.

You will perform maintenance checks, support inventory control, and work in varying weather conditions, reporting to the Production Supervisor. Equal opportunity employer; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment, specifically wheel loaders.
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment for 8+ hours per day, year round in all weather and ground conditions.
• Perform daily equipment walk-around inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Travel occasionally to different project sites within the Houston area.
• Manage inventory and quality control; assist wholesale customers.
