Job summary

The Ground Up, Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking a Heavy Equipment and Service Operator Grade 1 to support daily site operations and serve wholesale customers with bulk purchases.

You will operate heavy equipment, manage material movement, and assist customers with a focus on safety and efficiency. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of wheel loader experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in varying weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment, specifically wheel loaders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to work in all seasons and varying weather conditions.
• Reliable transportation to travel to and from assigned worksites.
• Valid state issued driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Comply with the proper operation and maintenance of assigned equipment.
• Perform a daily equipment walk around inspection and maintain preventive maintenance.
• Operate equipment for 8+ hours per day, year round in all types of weather and ground conditions.
• Perform other job related duties such as general housekeeping of machine, general lubrication of applicable components.
• Travel occasionally to different project sites within the Houston area.
• Gain in depth knowledge of product line.
• Operate forklifts, wheel loader and other heavy equipment both in warehouse and offroad.
• Manage Inventory and quality control.
• Maintain a neat, clean and orderly work area.
• Ensure proper use of personal protection equipment at all times.
• Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
• Other duties as assigned or needed
