Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Mobile Equipment Mechanic to join our mining operations. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diesel-powered mobile equipment including CAT, Komatsu and Volvo machines, perform welding and fabrication as needed, and support preventative maintenance.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Valid US driver's license required.
• Minimum 5 years of CAT, Komatsu, and Volvo quarry/construction equipment or diesel engine repair experience.
• Trade school certification preferred.
• Mining experience a plus.
• Bilingual is a plus.
• CDL and clean driving record a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant mobile equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on diesel-powered equipment.
• Remove and install mechanical parts as needed.
• Weld, cut and fabricate on plant or mobile equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Martin Marietta is currently looking for a motivated Mobile Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The individual hired into this position would be responsible for performing mechanical repairs on diesel-powered mobile equipment including troubleshooting and repairs of heavy equipment, rebuilds, removal and installation of mechanical parts, and preventative maintenance on all types of diesel-powered equipment.

Essential Functions

• Ability to work safely at all times
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant mobile equipment including CAT, Komatsu & Volvo quarry/construction equipment/ diesel engines
• Mechanically inclined on a wide variety of hand tools and power tools
• Weld, cut and perform minor fabrication on plantor mobile equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• HS Diploma or GED required
• Valid US driver's license
• Minimum 5 years of experience with CAT, Komatsu & Volvo quarry/construction equipment/ diesel engine repairs
• Certification from a trade school is preferred
• Previous mining experience is a plus
• Bilingual is a plus
• A CDL and a clean driving record is a plus.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position that regularly requires 40+ hours per week in a surface and/or underground mine setting. This role frequently operates heavy equipment.
