Job summary

Independence Excavating, Inc. seeks a dependable Shipping/Receiving Clerk to support daily operations. You will maintain inventory, source parts, assist mechanics, and keep the parts department organized in a fast-paced shop.

The role requires mechanical inclination, detail orientation, safety awareness, and comfort around heavy equipment. Growth opportunities exist within our expanding team.

Qualifications

• Dependable and punctual with a positive attitude.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and teamwork.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Forklift certification is a plus and can be obtained.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, identify, and store incoming parts and supplies.
• Maintain an organized and accurate parts inventory.
• Assist mechanics and technicians in locating parts.
• Research parts using manuals, part numbers, and online resources.
• Assist with ordering parts, tracking shipments, and deliveries.
• Maintain records of parts purchased, received, issued, and returned.
• Coordinate with vendors to obtain parts and pricing.
• Process returns for incorrect, damaged, or unused parts.
• Keep the parts room and storage areas clean and organized.
• Assist with loading/unloading parts and materials.
• Support maintenance of parts for heavy equipment.
• Communicate with mechanics, operators, supervisors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other parts, inventory, and shop duties as needed.
