Job summary

Independence Excavating, Inc. seeks a dependable Shipping / Receiving Clerk to support daily shop operations in Cleveland, OH.

You will maintain parts inventory, assist mechanics, and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely deliveries, while upholding safety and organization in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and capable of handling heavy equipment surroundings.

Qualifications

• Previous parts, automotive, diesel, construction, or heavy-equipment experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Forklift certification is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, identify, and properly store incoming parts and supplies.
• Maintain an organized and accurate parts inventory.
• Assist mechanics and technicians in locating and obtaining parts.
• Research parts using manuals, part numbers, and online resources.
• Assist with ordering parts and tracking shipments, backorders, and deliveries.
• Maintain records of parts purchased, received, issued, and returned.
• Coordinate with vendors to obtain parts and pricing.
• Process returns for incorrect, damaged, or unused parts.
• Keep parts room and storage areas clean and organized.
• Assist with loading and unloading parts and materials.
• Help maintain parts for excavators, loaders, dozers, skid steers, trucks, and other equipment.
• Communicate effectively with mechanics, operators, supervisors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Follow company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform additional parts, inventory, and shop-related duties as needed.
