Job summary

Gebhart seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate our heavy equipment in the recycling yards. You will perform pre- and post-operation inspections, run a crane to move material, and assist customers within the yard.

A high school diploma is preferred but not required, and prior Heavy Equipment Operator experience is helpful. We expect a team player who is eager to learn, follows attendance policies, and supports lean 5S practices across the yard.

Qualifications

• Previous Heavy Equipment Operator experience preferred.
• High School Diploma preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of the equipment.
• Operate material handling crane to move material within the yard.
• Load and unload trucks / trailers of material with crane or other equipment.
• Process and prepare scrap metal material for shipping per instructions.
• Direct customers within the yard and help customers unload material.
• Cross-train to assist in other yard areas as needed.
• Maintain regular and timely attendance.
• Follow the 5S foundations for lean production tools and processes.
