Job summary

North American Recycling (NAR) is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to operate forklifts, loaders and material handlers in the yard, loading and unloading scrap metal while keeping the area organized.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years of heavy equipment operating experience, with outdoor work in varying weather conditions. PTO accrual starts day one and a competitive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–2 years of heavy equipment operating experience.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Physically able to handle up to 50 pounds and perform tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, loaders and material handlers in the yard to move scrap metal.
• Keep the yard organized and optimize material storage for efficiency.
• Assist customers, addressing their needs and ensuring satisfaction.
• Inspect equipment before each use to ensure it runs safely and effectively.
